June 23, 2009….Church of the Savior adds Tuesday service, Paramus, NJ

Church of the Savior, a Lutheran congregation in Paramus, is expanding its outreach to the community.  Under the leadership of its new pastor, the Rev. Susan E. Nagle, they are adding a new Service of Holy Communion to their schedule on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. beginning July 14th.  This worship service will include weekly prayers for those who have lost jobs and incomes.  Those who are experiencing these losses are invited to attend, as well as all who wish to pray and support their neighbors in this difficult time.

Hopefully a Tuesday evening worship service followed by confirmation instruction for 7th and 8th graders will fit into the busy lives of families with weekend obligations, and teens with sports and other weekend commitments.  Come as you are and join us for prayer and worship!

The communion at Church of the Savior is called an “open table” where all who are baptized and communing Christians, who sense their own need for God’s love and forgiveness are invited to communion, and no one who comes to receive communion will ever be passed by.

“The life of the church is in its worship,” says Pastor Nagle, “and we want to be accessible and inclusive. We want to be known as a faith community of welcome.”  Church of the Savior is already well known for its excellent Nursery School of over 150 children, plus a waiting list.  And its Bible School, “Summer Fun Week” is also popular, registering 150 students during the first week of August, 3rd to 7th.

More information on all of Church of the Savior programs can be obtained by calling the church office at 201-261-0420 or by stopping by 643 Forest Ave., at the corner of Oradell Ave.  It’s the church with the big cross. The church’s website is www.churchofthesavior-lutheran.org.
